Fire side · gas lines
Gas piping in Yakima, from the service line to the burner
We gas pipe anything you need to get gas to your home, from a whole house to a fire pit, and we inspect the lines you already have before the season starts.
Chapter 01
Signs the gas line is the problem
Gas trouble rarely announces itself loudly. It shows up as a hiss near a connection, a rusted fitting, a furnace or stove that acts up for no clear reason, or a bill that climbs while the weather stays the same. Any one of those is worth a call.
The one you cannot ignore is the smell. Natural gas is given a rotten egg odor on purpose so a leak gets noticed. If you smell it, treat it as an emergency, not a maintenance item. The note in the ledger below spells out what to do.

From the utility's mainline to your burner
Gas piping runs on pressure. Gas flows from higher pressure to lower, from the distribution line, the mainline, through a service line into your house. The gas utility maintains that service line. Everything downstream of it, the equipment and the supply lines, belongs to the customer.
Before it enters the house, the gas passes through a pressure regulator that lowers its pressure. When you switch on a furnace or a stove, the gas pressure is just above the air pressure, so it flows out of the burner and into the heating unit to light.
Seasonal Energy Services pipes whole houses, underground runs, fire pits, pool heaters and BBQ outlet stubs around Yakima. If a new gas fireplace or fire bowl is the reason for the line, that work sits on our fireplaces and fire pits page.
Chapter 03
Have it inspected before you light anything for the season
Problems with gas piping can lead to poor air quality, fires and even explosions. Before you turn on a system or appliance for the season, call Cydni, and we will inspect the piping and make any repairs needed before there is a problem.
That applies to the furnace, to a fireplace that sat dark all summer, and to a fire pit going back into use. Visits are booked Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm. Mike holds Washington construction contractor licence SEASOES786P1.
