HVAC repair in Yakima, from the furnace to the heat pump to the AC
From heat pumps to air conditioners, Mike and his crew repair units from any manufacturer. If we find it needs to be replaced, your service call is on us!
Chapter 01
What a failing furnace tells you before it quits
Dirty burners are the quiet one. They smoke and smell when they are really dirty, the buildup absorbs moisture and rusts the parts, and you may get no heat at all. Worse, a partially blocked burner does not burn completely, and that puts you and your family at risk of gas poisoning.
A Cracked Heat Exchanger is the one we do not wait on. If you are smelling a strong, unpleasant odor that reads like formaldehyde, it is highly toxic when inhaled. Call us immediately.
Then there are the noises. A high-pitched squeal usually means a frayed blower belt. Screeching, grinding or rattling points to worn ball bearings, which can seize from dust, wear and heat. Neither is dangerous on its own day, and both get expensive if you ignore them.

Diagnosis comes before any talk of a new system
We work on units from any manufacturer, heat pumps to air conditioners to gas furnaces. The job is to find what is actually wrong. A faulty thermostat can look like a dying system: short cycling, a rising bill, a unit that ignores the setting. That is a much smaller fix than the one you were bracing for.
One Yakima customer wrote that her A/C went out just before a long, hot weekend, and that Cydni and company went out of their way to get it going when every other company only wanted to sell her a whole new system. That is how we want a repair call to go.
Call the office and Cydni schedules the visit. The office is open Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm.
Chapter 03
If the answer is a new unit, the visit is free
If we find it needs to be replaced, your service call is on us! You pay for the repair when a repair is the answer, and nothing for the diagnosis when it is not.
Belts, bearings, burners and thermostat calibration are all on our maintenance checklist, so the $14/month plan is the way to catch most of this earlier. And when replacement is the honest answer, financing is available through Wells Fargo and Synchrony, all subject to credit approval.
Jesse Eaton, customer testimonial: "Very professional! HVAC technician very friendly and very knowledgeable and fixed the problem in no time."
Five common repairs: what you notice, what it means
If one of these sounds familiar, call before it grows. A maintenance visit checks most of them, and our heating page covers the furnace side in more detail.
Dirty Burners
You notice
Smoke and smell from the furnace, little or no heat, or a furnace that goes out entirely.
It means
Dirt holds moisture and rusts the parts. A partly blocked burner burns incompletely, which puts your family at risk of gas poisoning.
Cracked Heat Exchanger
You notice
A strong, unpleasant smell that usually reads as formaldehyde.
It means
Highly toxic when inhaled. This is the one you call about immediately.
Frayed Blower Belts
You notice
A high-pitched squealing sound.
It means
The belt that turns the blower is worn. It is not dangerous, but without it the heat does not move through the house.
Worn out Ball Bearings
You notice
Screeching, grinding or rattling.
It means
Bearings can seize over time from dust, wear and heat. The noise is the early warning.
Faulty Thermostats
You notice
Short cycling, a climbing monthly bill, or no response when you change the setting.
It means
The control is starting and stopping the system on its own, and you pay for the extra run time.
